CME
Salary Employees - Continuing Medical Education
Support is offered to salaried physicians pursuing continuing medical education. Physicians are offered paid leaves of absence to attend CME and reimbursement for costs incurred to obtain the CME.
 
Full-Time Physicians (0.6+ FTE):
Up to 75 hours of paid leave per fiscal year for attending approved CME
Family Physician:  Maximum of $5,000 in reimbursement/year
Specialist:  Maximum of $7,000 in reimbursement/year
 
Part-time (less than 0.6 FTE):
Up to 37.5 hours paid leave per fiscal year to attend approved CME
Family Physician:  Maximum of $2,500 in reimbursement/year
Specialist:  Maximum of $3,500 in reimbursement/year
 
APPLICATION PROCESS
CME must be approved in advance. Requests are made in writing to the Physician’s Medical Director, 30 days prior to departure for the CME. Request should include: title, purpose and location of CME, description of how CME will advance the physician’s practice and benefit patients and the health system; CME costs and hours, along with required travel hours, and planned vacation days to be used before and after the CME program.
 
CME expenses are reimbursed based on approval of receipts.
