PLI - Mobilizing change in health care
Members are invited to participate in one of the newest Physician Leadership Institute courses offered by the Canadian Medical Association, “Mobilizing Change in Health Care,” facilitated by emergency medicine physician and Doc Talk podcast anchor, Dr. Shazma Mithani, and hosted by Jodi Ploquin, MSPEI Director of Professionalism and Wellness.
This session is designed to help physicians strengthen their impact as advocates and leaders within the health care system. Using real-world scenarios, participants will explore how to navigate systems, frame issues effectively, and influence change at multiple levels.
Session learning outcomes:
- Apply an advocacy framework to a scenario relevant to PEI.
- Explain how to navigate institutional and government pathways to advocate for positive change.
- Explore and share different strategies, tactics, challenges, and barriers to influence and how to overcome them.
This past year marked a period of significant activity for MSPEI, including the first year of the Physician Services Agreement and new approaches to advocacy and engagement. This program builds on that momentum, supporting physicians in strengthening their skills in advocating for themselves and their patients.
This is a half-day course accredited for up to 3.5 hours. The deadline to register for this professional development session is May 15.
