To all physicians, medical learners and retired physicians, we hope you will choose beautiful Prince Edward Island as your place to work, live and play.
MSPEI is the professional association, representing all PEI physicians and medical learners. When you decide to practice in PEI, you will apply to be a member with our Society.
MSPEI is here to support you, advocate for you and your patients, and provide you with opportunities to connect with your colleagues. We are also your sole bargaining unit when it comes to negotiating your compensation and benefits with the Government of Prince Edward Island.
Your membership dues support this work.

Medical License
All physicians who intend to practice medicine in Prince Edward Island (in person or otherwise) must be registered with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Prince Edward Island (CPSPEI) as per the Regulated Health Professions Act 2021. A physician must hold Canadian certification (CFPC/ RCPSC) or hold eligibility to write the exams to obtain Canadian certification. Additionally, all applicants must hold, at minimum, the Medical Council of Canada Qualifying Exam Part I (MCCQE Part I).
Further information can be found on the CPSPEI website.

The CMA will now be collecting its membership dues directly from members in Prince Edward Island, rather than through MSPEI. To join or renew your CMA membership, please use their online form or contact their Member Service Centre at memberservicecentre@cma.ca.

Starting May 1, 2023, physicians whose primary practice is in Atlantic Canada (and hold a general registration in either PEI, New Brunswick, Nova Scotia or Newfoundland and Labrador) may be eligible to obtain registration to practice in all four Atlantic Canadian provinces via the Atlantic Registry.
