The Atlantic Canadian medical associations have banded together to advance virtual care in their respective provinces. In May 2019, the four medical associations, along with the CMA, signed a joint statement to call attention to the need for, and opportunities in exploring increased use of virtual care.
This joint statement follows earlier work where the Atlantic medical associations commissioned consulting firm, Deloitte, to do an environmental scan of the virtual care scene in our world and region.
Virtual care is seen to have the ability to help solve long-standing health-care issues, including access.
We are now seeking members input, advice and guidance. Here are a few questions for your consideration:
- What are the best technologies, software, practices, and policies that excite you or where you already have experience?
- Are you interested in being a virtual care champion?
- Do you want to innovate and share your results with your colleagues?
